🚨🎙️ WAYNE ROONEY ON CRISTIANO RONALDO’S PORTUGAL SITUATION 🇵🇹
🗣️ Interviewer: What is your opinion on Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Portugal camp?
Wayne Rooney: “My opinion about Ronaldo was: why? If I’m honest, because he’s such a great player.”
🗣️ Interviewer: What do you think about the way he left and released his statement?
Wayne Rooney: “For him to leave the Portugal training camp like that and then publish that statement… It’s wrong in every way, from my point of view.”
🗣️ Interviewer: Do you think his actions affected his manager and teammates?
Wayne Rooney: “Undermining your coach and teammates the way he did was very wrong. He undermined the Portuguese Football Federation. Everything was wrong from a footballing perspective, as a teammate and also as a coach.”
🗣️ Interviewer: Do you think Ronaldo is handling this stage of his career well?
Wayne Rooney: “It’s a shame. Every player reaches a point where they have to leave international football, to retire from the sport. It happens to everyone, and unfortunately, he’s not handling it well, and it’s uncomfortable to watch.”
🗣️ Interviewer: What did you think about Ronaldo reportedly giving the manager statements to make at a press conference?
Wayne Rooney: “You can’t tell the manager what he has to say in a press conference; that just goes beyond anything I’ve ever seen.”
